Environmental Assessment : Fieldwork

Offshore survey:

Client BMT Cordah Ltd, as part of a 3 person team sampling nearshore sublittoral sediments in Shetland for both macrofauna and physico-chemical parameters (2002).

Previously with BMT Cordah Ltd, leading benthic macrofaunal surveys in both the nearshore and offshore marine environment for both the oil industry and nature agencies. This has included survey work in the following areas; southern, central and northern North Sea; deep-sea work in the atlantic frontier to the west of the Shetland Isles; the Caspian Sea; nearshore sampling off south-west Wales, the Scottish west coast and in Southampton Water.

Intertidal survey:

Previously with the National Rivers Authority, intertidal coring surveys as part of a baseline assessment programme on various estuaries in south-west England including the Teign, Dart, Tamar, Fowey, Helford, Camel and the Taw/Torridge.

Biotope mapping:

Client MarineSeen, as part of a four man team mapping the shores of the Plymouth Sound and Estuaries Special Area of Conservation (2001).

Saltmarsh survey:

Client BMT Cordah Ltd, as part of two person survey team sampling saltmarsh sediments for macrofauna and physico-chemical parameters (2001).

Previously with BMT Cordah Ltd, vegetation mapping of saltmarsh communities. Coring survey for metal contamination histories.

All fieldwork carries associated health and safety issues and therefore prior to the survey a thorough Risk Assessment is always undertaken in agreement with the client.
